ALSI has just partnered with ArabNet on the upcoming ArabNet 2011 Shift Digital Summit, the largest gathering for the Arab web/mobile industry.

ArabNet is an international event, where regional executives can connect with global players and where Silicon Valley companies interested in expanding into the region can come to understand the specifics of the Arab market.

Furthermore, it is a great opportunity to meet and network with industry professionals, investors, developers, and NGOs, and a platform for entrepreneurs on the lookout for exposure, funding, and mentorship.

ArabNet 2010 brought together over 500 attendees from 13 countries across the MENA, Europe and Silicon Valley. The event was covered by CNN and Al-Jazeera, along with 30 regional and local media, and became a global trending topic on twitter, receiving 10,000 tweets in 2 days!

The ArabNet 2011 Digital Summit is taking place in Beirut on March 22-25, under the Patronage of H.E. Michel Sleiman, President of Lebanon, and in Strategic Partnership with Google, Aramex, Bank Audi, N2V, TwoFour54, and MBC Group.  This year, ArabNet is expected to have over 1,000 attendees and 80 high-profile speakers at the 4-day event. It will kick-off with a Developer Day including tutorials, case studies, and workshops on agile development frameworks such as Django and RubyOnRails, development and design patterns, open source hardware, and hacking Microsoft's Kinect.

The Two-Day Forum, at the heart of the summit, will feature discussion panels, keynotes, 1-on-1 interviews, in-depth workshops, and rapid-fire Q&A sessions that will explore connectivity, telecommunication strategy, content, and services, the mobile application landscape, web/mobile investment, social media and citizenship, social media and marketing, technology for development, among others. Finally, the summit will conclude with a Community Day to raise awareness about the web and entrepreneurship among the public.

Speakers include leaders from top companies like Microsoft, Google, TechCrunch, Seedcamp, Meydan, Aramex, Sarmady, Intigral, Groupon, Effective Measure, Ericsson, Ideavelopers, MBC, Souktel, Travian Games, Nokia, National Net Ventures, ICT Ventures and many others.
